Description

Robert Morham, 1894-1900. Asymmetrical single storey and attic 7-bay former fire station with swept roof, barge-boarded eaves and 3 finialled gables to street; single bay gabled building to outer right. Squared and snecked bull-faced red sandstone with polished dressings. Base course; bracketed eaves cornice. Long and short quoins. Timbered panels in gables.

NW (ANGLE PARK TERRACE) ELEVATION: gabled building to outer right with 2-leaf door. Full-height glazed timber doors to 2 bays to outer right. 2 slightly projecting gabled bays to centre; date (1895) in gable to left; segmental-arched tripartite window to right and door to left. Canted window in chamfered surroiund in gabled bay to left. Tripartite opening in wall to outer left.

Small-pane glazing to windows. Cast-iron down pipes with decorative hoppers. Greenish slates (tiles to rear). Terracotta ridge tiles. Corniced ashlar chimney stalk to rear gable with circular can.
