18 Union Place, Leith Walk, Edinburgh

18 Union Place is a terraced tenement building located in Leith Walk, Edinburgh, designed by Robert Burn and planned in 1800. It is a four-storey structure with an attic and features six bays. The building is constructed from sandstone ashlar and includes a base course, a cill band at the first floor, and projecting cills at the second and third floors.

The east elevation has a late 19th-century shopfront on the left side at ground level, which includes a recessed entrance with a timber door and fanlight. To the right of the entrance, there is a panelled door leading to the stairwell and another shop with a door. The upper floors have regular fenestration, with a bay window to the left of centre that is blinded for symmetry.

The windows feature 12-pane timber sash and case glazing, and the roof is covered with grey slates. There is a prominent ashlar mutual ridge stack with terracotta cans, along with three piended slate-hung dormers. The interior was not seen in 1998.
