Description

Robert Burn, 1800. 2-storey with mansard attic and basement, terraced corner tenement with bowed corner bay. Sandstone ashlar. Base course, band course between floors, cill band with blind balustrade ashlar aprons, eaves cornice and blocking course, columned and corniced doorpiece with decorative capitals and rosette motif, entrance platts oversailing basement.

S (FORTH STREET) ELEVATION: broad tripartite timber panelled door with round-arched fanlight (radial glazing) in 3rd bay, windows to bays remaining, regular fenestration above with dormer windows to attic, bipartite to left. Bowed corner with windows in each floor to left, windows to right blinded for symmetry, dormers above.

E (SIDE) ELEVATION: pilastered and corniced doorpiece to left with small window just above, window blocked for symmetry to right, regular fenestration blocked for symmetry above, small bipartite box dormer above, wall-head stack swept at base.

Timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing, grey slates, wallhead stack with terracotta can, skews, cast iron railings.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
