Description
33-48 Ravelston Garden is a group of three blocks of flats designed by Andrew Neil and Robert Hurd, built between 1935 and 1936. These four-storey buildings are constructed in the International Style and feature a butterfly plan, with paired long balconies and small-paned metal-framed glazing. Some flats have been re-glazed but retain the original pattern. Each block has low oblong wings on either side, which also include bands of small-paned, metal-framed glazing. The interiors showcase 1930s detailing, including curved, double-flighted main stairs with streamlined metal balustrades, doors with port-hole openings, and the presence of lifts. Service and servants' access is provided between the wings at the sides, separate from the main entrances.
