Description

Possibly James Smith, mid 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay symmetrical villa with classical detail. Harled; rendered and lined as ashlar to entrance elevation. Base course, quoin strips, overhanging bracketted eaves, architraved windows. S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: timber pilastered doorpiece to cewntre, 2-leaf panelled doors, half-glazed vestibule door. Doorway flanked by advanced tripartite windows supporting and linked by decorative iron balcony creating porch at centre. 3 windows at 1st floor.

W (SIDE) ELEVATION: 2 widely grouped windows at ground and 1st floor. 2-storey wing to outer left and galbed porch to right, 2 small windows to left, 2 windows at 1st floor. Gabled return to N, 2 windows at ground.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: stair window to centre at 1st floor, window to left. Single storey wing adjoining to NE angle, gabled to S, 3 windows to E elevation with gabled bay to centre.

Mostly 4-pane sash and case windows. Grey slate roof, corniced ashlar stacks.

INTERIOR: curved stair with iron balustrade.

GATEPIERS AND FLANKING WALLS: ashlar piers with stop-chamfered angles, pyramidal caps; lower rubble quadrant walls, ashlar coped.
