Description

Engineer possibly Thomas Telford - built by Parliamentary

Commissioners for Highland Roads and Bridges, 1821.

L-plan quay clasping rock edge at corner to small natural

harbour inlet sloped evenly downwards towards sea.

Coursed rubble, top course vertically set with narrow

edges facing outwards and interlocked at diagonal

at angle; (?later)iron runner ties at edges. Wrought iron

tying rings, some now lost.
