Village Hall, Port Charlotte

The Village Hall in Port Charlotte was built around 1830 and has undergone some additions and alterations since then. It is located on a rise that overlooks the village and was formerly a village school. The exterior features whitewashed harl with contrasting painted margins.

The east elevation showcases a tall main block with a two-leaf door next to a central former porch, which is situated below a round-headed window. Above this, there is an elliptical panel in the pedimented gable, topped with a birdcage apex belfry that houses a tiny bell. To the left, there is a low two-storey piended wing that is deeply recessed, while the advanced wing to the right, likely added around 1880, features a three-light gable. The building is adorned with small-paned sash windows and has slate roofs.
