Duty Free Warehouse No 1, Glebe Street, Campbeltown

Duty Free Warehouse No 1 on Glebe Street in Campbeltown dates from around 1830 and is a two-storey former warehouse. The southwest elevation facing Glebe Street has three bays and features random rubble walls with stugged ashlar dressings. This elevation is symmetrical, with margined windows that have projecting cills, present only on the first floor.

The southeast elevation consists of six bays and is also symmetrical, with an additional lean-to bay at the outer right. The central bay on the ground floor has a three-pointed arched opening with yellow brick voussoirs, while the area above is blank. The flanking bays have projecting cills on the ground floor windows and slit windows on the first floor. There is a matching arched opening at the additional bay to the right, with a rectangular opening above it.

The northwest elevation has five bays, including an additional lean-to bay at the outer left. This elevation features slit windows on both the ground and first floors, except for a blank bay at the outer right. The additional bay on the outer left has a rectangular opening only on the first floor.

The building has iron bars on the openings and vertically-boarded two-leaf timber doors at the arches. It is topped with a grey slate piended roof that extends continuously over the lean-to bay, complemented by cast-iron gutters and downpipes.
