Description
St James's Church, located on St James' Road in Forfar, was designed by James Brewster from Dundee in 1835. The church features a Romanesque style with a rectangular plan, constructed from snecked rubble. The front has a three-window gable for the nave and one-window aisles, topped with a circular gable at the apex. The architectural details are archaeologically accurate for its period. The interior was recast in 1936, and a late Gothic hall was added around 1900 on the east side of the building.
