Description
Old Buddon Ness lighthouse, dating from around 1820, is a circular lighthouse that is rendered and painted. It is attached to the northeast gable of a two-storey, four-bay lighthouse keeper's house. Originally 85 feet high, it has been truncated and is now topped with a conical, tiled roof, reaching roughly the same height as the adjoining keeper's accommodation. The lighthouse features three small window openings around its base. The lighthouse keeper's house includes a gabled porch on the front elevation and an extension at the rear. Buddon Ness is located at the southern tip of Barry Links, at the northern entrance to the Firth of Tay, south of Carnoustie.
