Description
The churchyard of Deer in New Deer contains a stone from 1622 set into the wall of the session house. This site was once home to a parish church, although no remains of the church are present today. There is a burial enclosure for Brucklay, which features monuments dating from 1733 and 1840. The churchyard also includes grave slabs and gravestones that date from the 18th century onwards, with a significant number being modern.
