Description
The Dingwall Fordyce Monument, designed by James Matthews in 1876 and built in 1877, is a memorial to William Dingwall Fordyce, M.P. (1836-1875). This structure is a Georgian survival featuring a steeple of Gibbs type. The ground floor is made of pinned squared granite and includes a triple keyblocked archway leading to a spiral stair within a brick well. The upper two stages and the spire are constructed from granite ashlar.
