Description
St Mary's Episcopal Church, located on High Street in Inverurie, was designed by James Ross in 1841 and showcases Gothic architectural style. The nave features a three-window ashlar granite gable front, with the side windows being dummies. The center projects forward and includes a plain four-centre arch door, topped by a pinnacled bellcote. The flanking sections are constructed of rubble and slightly project, with gables that have pinnacle finials. Inside, there is a depressed plaster vault that is groined at the crossing. The chancel, designed by William White from London in 1857, has a simple early decorated style. The east end consists of three tall, spaced lancets with trefoil heads and enclosing hoodmoulds. Additionally, there is an organ chamber on the north side and a two-seat sedilia.
