Description

Elizabeth Cottage, located on Woodside Road in Banchory, is a building from the later 19th century that has undergone some additions. Originally a T-plan temporary church, it was dismantled and rebuilt as a cottage. The exterior is made of corrugated iron and features decorative pierced timber bargeboards and timber finials.

The north elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a gabled center with a lean-to porch that has partial glazing on the outer left and another lean-to on the outer right. The south elevation, facing the garden, is three bays wide and includes a veranda with swept eaves supported by timber columns. There is an advanced glazed entrance in the center, flanked by three-light canted windows on both sides. An adjoining lean-to is located on the outer left.

On the east elevation, there is a gabled bay with an entrance porch on the outer right. The west elevation features a lean-to at ground level with a gabled section above, which includes a 4-pane sash and case window. The roof is made of corrugated iron, and there are brick stacks with moulded octagonal cans. The interior was not seen in 1994.

Additionally, there is a corrugated iron outbuilding with a brick stack located to the north of the house.
