Description
The stableblock at Kincardine House is a harled quadrangle, with the southeastern portion likely dating from the 18th century. The remainder was constructed around 1840, repaired in 1868, and largely rebuilt between 1873 and 1874 under the direction of James Thomson, the architect from Crathes. The main southwest front features a two-story design with a plain central tower. The building is constructed of ashlar granite and has a crenellated top. Contracts relating to the building's repairs and reconstruction were documented in the Aberdeen Journal in September 1868, July 1873, and March 1874.
