Description
The Ploughman's Society Hall in Rayne was likely built around 1830 for the Ploughman's Society. It features a plaque dated 1778 that includes a trade symbol, a coat of arms, and the initials AL, JC, and MR, possibly referring to the Leiths of Freefield. The building is a two-storey structure with five bays, constructed from squared granite with tooled dressings. The entrance door is located off-centre to the left, with two windows to the right and one to the left on the ground floor. The first floor has four windows, with the plaque positioned between the two central windows. There are additional windows in the gables, gable-end stacks, straight skews, and a slate roof.
