2 Evan Street, Stonehaven

4 and 6 Evan Street in Stonehaven is an earlier 19th-century, altered, two-storey terraced tenement with a part basement and later attic. It features five bays above ground and includes a shop at the ground level, located on a corner site with a splayed and corbelled entrance angle. The building is constructed of dressed sandstone ashlar with polished dressings and has an eaves band course at the gable.

On the north elevation facing Evan Street, the ground floor has three fixed display windows beneath a broad fascia on the left, with a timber door featuring a two-pane fanlight flanked by additional display windows on the right. The first floor has five regularly spaced windows, with five slate-hung shallowly canted dormer windows above.

The northeast entrance elevation features a two-leaf timber door with a two-pane fanlight, topped by a round-arched boarded timber panel supported by flanking consoled brackets, all situated on the splayed corner that transitions to a square at the wallhead.

The east elevation facing Barclay Street has a two-bay gabled design, with the ground falling steeply to the south. It includes two display windows at the ground level, one of which is over a boarded timber basement opening, and two windows on the first floor.

The windows are replacement timber sash and case with a four-pane glazing pattern, while the display windows have two- and three-pane top lights. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks with thackstanes and cans, as well as ashlar-coped skews.
