Description

The Walla' Kirk Graveyard comprises a rubble-built enclosure with stepped walls. While some stones date to the 18th century, the majority of the walling is modern. The graveyard is the burial site of the Gordons of Wardhouse and Beldorney, and was restored in 1913 by Rafael Gordon. No remains of the church itself exist. Walla Kirk ceased to function as a parish church in 1598. Further information can be found in reference 3 of S.A. p. 616, and in Henderson’s Aberdeenshire Epitaphs and Inscriptions p. 326.
