Description
Glebe House, Glass, was constructed in 1843 by Thomas Mackenzie, incorporating elements of a previous manse dating back to 1772. The house is built in a cottage style, with harled walls contrasted by stone dressings, and presents as an L-plan layout with a bay window. It features mullioned windows with narrow sashes, although one window has been altered. The building has shafted chimneys. In 2006, the house was re-categorised from B to C(S), reflecting its group interest. This listing applies to both the interior and exterior of the building. Details relating to the construction can be found in contracts published in the Aberdeen Journal on February 15, 1843, and in the Ordnance Survey and New Statistical Accounts, volumes 7 page 401 and 12 page 207 respectively.
