10-16 (Even Nos) Exchequer Row

10-16 (Even Nos) Exchequer Row is a late 18th century, near-symmetrical, three-storey and attic, four-bay building that serves both commercial and residential purposes. It is located at a prominent corner in the city centre and features a nepus gable with corbelled-out corners. The exterior is made of squared and coursed granite, accented with pale granite margins. The upper floors have regular fenestration.

On the principal south elevation, there is a large, two-leaf timber door in the outer left bay, which includes a rectangular fanlight above it. To the outer right bay, there is another timber door that provides access to the flats above. The central bays contain four fixed-pane windows, each with 12 panes. The nepus gable has two additional windows that are harled.

The building features timber sash and case windows with 15-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slate and has terracotta ridge tiles. A broad gable stack is present on the west elevation, along with coped skews and clay cans. The property also includes cast-iron rainwater goods.
