Description
Powis Lodge, located at 51a College Bounds in Old Aberdeen, is a building that was originally constructed in 1697 and underwent remodeling in 1711 and possibly again in 1829 by John Smith. The eastern portion of the lodge, identified as 51-1/2, is two stories high and features four windows, constructed from rubble with chamfered openings. The rear portion, known as 51, is also two stories and has a distinctive tea-caddy roof. The 1711 section includes a bow window, which may have been added by Smith in 1829, along with a further addition that features a minaret, designed by Alexander Fraser in 1834.
