McRobbie and Milne, builders; 1886. 2-storey and attic, 3-bay villa. Tooled coursed granite ashlar to SW elevation, Aberdeen bond granite to SE, rubble to remainder; finely finished margins. Base course chamfered cills; dividing band course; eaves course.

SW (FOREST ROAD) ELEVATION: asymmetrical; segmental-arched doorway with chamfered reveals and keystone detail to centre bay at ground floor, stone steps to panelled timber door with stained glass upper panels and fanlight, window to 1st floor above, dentil moulded cornice and pyramidal roof breaking eaves, iron finial to apex; window to ground floor of bay to left, window to 1st floor above with dentil moulded eaves brackets and pyramidal roof breaking eaves, iron finial to apex; broad canted bay advanced to right, window to each facet at ground and 1st floors, piended roof with round-arched dormer to centre, iron finial to apex.

SE (DESSWOOD PLACE) ELEVATION: near-symmetrical; gabled; window to centre of ground and 1st floors, round-arched window with keystone detail centre in gablehead.

NE ELEVATION: asymmetrical; gabled; opening to centre of ground floor, tall stair window with decorative glazing to centre of 1st floor, canted window through ground and 1st floors breaking eaves with piended roof to flanking bay to left, rectangular dormer above; gabled bay advanced to right with addition at ground floor, doorway and windows to left return, rectangular dormer to attic floor.

NW ELEVATION: gabled.

Predominantly 2-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof with lead ridges. Coped stone skews with moulded skewputts. Corniced gablehead stacks with octagonal cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods with decorative hoppers.

INTERIOR: not seen 2000.

GATEPIERS AND BOUNDARY WALLS: square-plan rough-faced granite gatepiers to SW with pyramidal caps, low coped granite walls flanking to left and right; brick coped rubble walls to rear.
