Dunnywater Bridge, Head Rd, Annalong, Newry, Co Down, BT34 4RQ

This is a bridge carrying a secondary road over the Annalong River. It is likely of late 18th or early 19th century date, with a later construction period between 1900 and 1919. A bridge is depicted at this location on an Ordnance Survey map of 1834. The bridge has a single semicircular span, constructed of roughly dressed granite blocks for the abutments, voussoirs, and copings, with the remainder of the structure built from split Silurian and granite random rubble. The deck is slightly humped and features dogleg approaches on both ends. It measures 5.3 metres across the parapets, although sections of the parapets are missing on the left bank approach. Despite its features, the bridge has been assessed as having insufficient architectural and historical merit to warrant listing, though it is noted to possess some industrial archaeological interest.
