Description
This is a single-storey, three-bay farmhouse dating to between 1800 and 1819. It faces east and is located in the Ballaghanery townland. The building is constructed of whitewashed random granite rubble with a buttress on the left-hand bay of the façade. It has a coped gable roof covered in red painted corrugated metal, with a single concrete brick chimney positioned off-centre.
A projecting porch, with metal-framed windows on either side and a flat concrete roof, is located to the right of the central bay. The façade has a single window to each room; the left and right bays feature 2/2 sliding sash windows, while the central bay has a 6-paned fixed window. The remaining elevations are featureless.
A building is depicted on the Ordnance Survey map of 1834 (sheet 53), suggesting the farmhouse was present by that date. It likely has been extended to the right, and the porch is a more recent addition. The building exhibits vernacular characteristics and is currently in private ownership. It is noted that the building is scheduled for demolition to facilitate the construction of a replacement dwelling.
