Description

A single storey, three-bay, direct entry house with thatch under corrugated asbestos sheeting. The wall construction is of granite rubble with remains of harling. A windbreak porch with a timber ledged door now flush on the exterior is flanked to the right (south-east) by one and to the left by two (north-west) windowless openings. As far as may be seen there are no sills. There are no openings in the rear walls or in the gables. The house, that faces south-west, forms part of a small settlement accessed by means of a winding lane that travels in a north-easterly direction from Gransha Road about one and a half miles from Rathfriland in the direction of Loughbrickland. The site originally contained five buildings two of which remain together with the remains of a third building now represented only by a footprint. The complex is terminated at the south-west end by a modern field gate with stone walling either side and a two-unit outhouse. The remainder of the site has been landscaped to a high standard.
