27 Clontafleece Road, Warrenpoint, Newry, Co Down, BT34 3QS

This is a two-storey, two-bay vernacular house situated in a farmyard off Clontafleece Road. The building dates from between 1900 and 1919, although it is marked on an Ordnance Survey map of 1834 as a smaller, probable thatched house. While it may be an enlargement of this earlier structure, it is more likely to represent a complete rebuild, as evidenced by its dimensions recorded in the 1914 Valuation Revision entry. The roof is pitched and covered with natural slate, with tiled skews and red brick coped chimneys at each gable. Modern plastic half-round rainwater goods are visible along the rendered eaves. The walls are smooth rendered over random rubble. The main southern-facing elevation looks into the yard and features a modern plywood door within a windbreak porch in the centre of the right bay. To the right of the porch is a window, and another is situated within the left bay. First-floor windows are present in both bays, all with painted granite cills and boarded-up glazing. The left gable is blank, while the right gable is adjoined by a single-storey outbuilding constructed of concrete blockwork, which projects beyond the front elevation. The rear elevation has a window opening at each floor of each bay, with the top left window illuminating the stairwell.
