Description
The site at 19 Tandragee Road, Newry, was formerly the location of a single-storey house built between 1820 and 1839. It is now occupied by a children's playground. The house was depicted on an Ordnance Survey map of 1834 and served as the residence for the miller associated with a large flour mill situated immediately to the south. The mill ceased operation in 1882 and was subsequently destroyed by fire in 1898. The house was described in a 1969 survey as having a slated roof and whitened stone walls, with a lean-to porch and a side lean-to extension. It featured a small porch with a side doorway, a casement window in the gable with an overhanging verge, and two casement windows on the side. The frontage was approximately 22 feet. The house was noted to be in poor condition during the 1969 survey and was derelict during a 1981 visit. It was demolished sometime after the 1969 survey.
