Dwelling, Craigmore Road, Newry, Co Down, BT35 6PL

This is a two-storey dwelling house, likely constructed between 1820 and 1839. It is a rendered building with a half-hipped roof and a single-storey extension set at a right angle. The roof is covered with artificial slate, and a modern rendered chimney rises from the ridge to the rear, with modern plastic rainwater goods. All windows and doors are modern, made of stained timber, and have narrow concrete sills. The walls are lined with cement render.

The main entrance is through a lean-to porch at the right end of the south-facing front elevation; the porch has a pitched artificial slate roof, rendered walls, and a door on its left side. A single window is at ground floor level on the left side of the front elevation. There are two windows to the first floor, aligned with the ground floor openings. The right-hand elevation has a single-storey return bay with a half-hipped roof and rendered walls, adjacent to the main portion of the wall. A single modern window is positioned at first floor level on the right side of this return. The left-hand elevation contains a window to each floor. The rear elevation has a single modern window on the ground floor to the left.

The house appears on an Ordnance Survey map from 1835. It was not listed in the 1838 valuation records as it was valued below £5. A Historic Monuments and Buildings Board survey slide from November 1969 shows the original building had a top half-storey and a door on the left side of the left-hand elevation. At that time, the windows were 2/2 sliding sash windows in smaller openings, with granite cills. The walls appear to have been lowered.
