Middle unit of a terrace of three similar three storey, two bay houses on west side of Canal Street. Pitched artificial slate roof with corbelled masonry eaves course, semicircular metal rainwater goods (flow into adjacent property); and no chimney. East elevation is painted lined render. Right bay is double width of left. Main entrance is to ground floor left and consists of a six panelled modern stained timber door with single paned plain glazed over-light. All windows to facade are painted timber 2/2 (vertically divided) sliding sashes with painted granite cills. There are two to ground floor right and three equally spaced to each upper floor. All are in line with ground floor openings and those to second floor are diminished in height. Left (no.46) and right (no. 50) gables form party walls with adjacent properties. Rear (west )elevation is cement rendered with a two storey return to right. To ground floor left is a single, floor to ceiling modern painted timber window. Above to first floor is a similar window. To second floor, set to right of windows below, over extension roof is a small modern fixed painted timber window with top-hung transom. Extension has a flat felted roof and cement rendered walls. It is abutted to rear by a second similar single storey extension. All its windows are modern painted timber and rear door is to second extension, all of no interest.
