Description
Two and a half storey Public house consisting of no.16 Trevor Hill and nos. 1-4 Sandys Street. Roof is pitched with artificial slates. There is no chimney, and rainwater goods are semicircular plastic. 1. 16 Trevor Hill: Wall rubble stone brought to courses. To ground floor of Trevor Hill elevation are two modern glazed timber doors. Over the doors is a modern fascia advertising with painted lettering. To first floor are three openings; each with a modern 3/9 hop-hung transom. Two projecting ‘heritage' light fittings between each window lighting fascia. Right gable forms party wall with adjacent property. Left gable (to Sandys Street): wall continues to left as the right cheek of the rear return. Walls are as façade with brick to first floor centre (infilled former chimney breast). There are four modern windows to ground floor, all are 3/12 modern top-hung transoms. The left one is on the rear return, the other three are in the gable. Above the G/F openings is a modern fascia as façade. At first floor there are three modern windows, all 3/9 top hung transoms; and are in line with the 1st, 2nd and 4th openings from left. Gable above has two small paned timber casement windows in exposed boxes (seem original), one to each corner near the eaves. Rear elevation is almost completely abutted by the rear return; walls are windowless and hung with artificial slates. 2. Nos. 1-4 Sandys Street is a long two storey block, the right gable of which abuts the rear gable of no. 16 Trevor Hill. Roof is pitched with artificial slates with a rendered chimney to centre of front pitch, and two metal extractor vents rising from rear pitch. Rainwater goods are plastic and semicircular in profile. Walls are painted lined render and have a raised, chamfered base course. There is a single four panelled door with bolection mouldings to ground floor left and a pair of doors (as façade) to ground floor right. To centre of the remaining wall between the doors is a coach-way with granite piers and head. This has been infilled with three modern fixed windows with granite cills. On either side of this are two 2/2 sliding sash windows (modern) with horns. Each of the windows has an exposed roller shutter box. To first floor there are seven irregularly spaced 2/2 sliding sash windows. Left gable abuts an adjacent property. Right gable is party wall with no. 16 Trevor Hill. The rear elevation has modern openings at ground floor; and first floor is hung with artificial slates. Much of the rear yard is infilled with a single storey extension, which is of no interest. Yard is enclosed by high rendered walls.
