Houses in Glenoe, Larne, Co Antrim

The building comprises a house which originated as a terrace of three houses dating from the 1820s to 1839. Originally, these were two-storey structures with harled and whitened walls, slated roofs and timber sliding sash windows. However, the terrace has since been combined into a single dwelling, resulting in the loss of its original appearance and distinctive features. The walls have been smooth cement-rendered and painted white; the front entrance now features a ledged timber door and the original windows have been replaced with four-pane timber casements. Modern PVC rainwater goods have also been installed. The building is situated below the level of the main road, facing it with a paved area to the front and a sloping grassed lawn to the rear, which descends to a river with a stone bridge to the south. Houses are depicted on an Ordnance Survey map of 1832.
