Upper Bridge over Glenoe Water, Glenoe, Larne, Co Antrim

This is a single-arched bridge, likely dating to the late Georgian period between 1800 and 1819. It has a picturesque appearance but possesses no particular historic or architectural value. The bridge is constructed of random rubble greystone, with rough voussoirs of basalt and limestone. It features basalt rock copings to the parapets, a rubble stone vault, and a projecting concrete plinth to each abutment. Large cast iron tie rods are located on each side of the arch on both faces. A later buttress has been added to the west side of the north face. The bridge appears on an Ordnance Survey map dated 1832. It is situated at the south end of the village of Glenoe, in a rural location surrounded by trees and bushes. Despite its lack of formal listing, the structure demonstrates industrial archaeological interest.
