Description

A gabled church built of red brick with blue brick banding to the entrance front, designed in an indeterminate, freely treated round-arched style, neo-Byzantine to the entrance front with a neo-Georgian pattern to side windows. Concrete roof tiles, replacements; domical copper ventilator turret, original; cast iron gutter and downpipes; segmental arched window over main entrance with prominent cast iron mullions; gabled porch with replacement fibre cement slated roof; concrete steps up to main entrance with rebuilt red brick retaining walls; plastic lettering across front of church; PVC replacement windows, fixed lights with a top-hung vent, to side elevations which attempt to follow original pattern retained in one window of side porch to rear, timber sliding sash vertically hung with horns. A roughcast hall to rear with pitched roof of fibre cement slates has had a later extension added in dry dash finish of limestone chippings. The church stands on a slightly elevated site facing the main road within the built-up area of the town, with its entrance front and two side elevations clearly exposed to view.
