Description

Four-span flat stone road-over-river bridge, erected c.1850, carrying the road on a northeast-southwest axis across a river. Four round-headed arches formed in tooled ashlar voussoirs rising from rounded v-cutwaters and ashlar spandrels with a projecting ashlar stringcourse to the base of the parapet. To either end of both elevations is a full-height ashlar pier with rubble-stone parapets above the stringcourse having barrel coping stones. Curved rubble-stone abutments to the south elevation only, and terminating in a further ashlar pier to the southwest only. Ashlar soffits to all arches with some shuttered concrete repairs.
