Engine House, Garron Road, Carrivemurphy Townland, Glenariff, Co. Antrim

This is a former engine house of local significance, situated in the Carrivemurphy Townland, Glenariff, County Antrim. Only a partial record of the building was taken during the Second Survey, as it has undergone considerable modification and does not possess sufficient special interest to warrant a full survey. Only the North and West Elevations of the original structure remain. The visible sections feature a series of round-topped arches with blocked-up openings, constructed in limestone. The walls are finished with a pebble dash render and are covered by a flat felted roof. As of the 2014 survey, the building was in use as a community hall. It served as an engine house for rural industry and is not currently listed.
