A two-bay, two-and-a-half storey terraced house with a basement and narrow back return, dating from the late 19th century, likely built between 1880 and 1899 and probably later than the adjacent number 47. The house was significantly altered both internally and externally in 1984, and now has a largely nondescript appearance to the front. The ground floor features a central double-hung sliding sash window with two panes, and on either side, a four-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight. At the first floor are two double-hung sliding sash windows with two panes each, their sills forming a stringcourse across the facade. A deep frieze sits beneath the gutter. The walls are smooth rendered and painted, with a half-round gutter and a single metal downpipe. A large dormer sits above the gutter, faced with smooth rendered walling, having a gabled form, plain barge with a slight overhang, and a slated roof. The roof itself is slated. A gateway adjoining the property appears to be part of it, but is not. The back return features a two-way pitched roof at a right angle to the main block, and incorporates a variety of window shapes. A fire escape is attached to a double-hung sliding sash window at the first floor of the main building. Above this is a flat-roofed dormer with a four-pane window, two panes of which are top-hung, and a natural slated roof. The property sits within a conservation area and was delisted on 1st March 2005. It was formerly used as a shop and terrace and is currently used for the same purpose.
