Description
Two storey pink sandstone ashlar faced coach house and out-houses arranged in three ranges of approximately equal length to form a courtyard the 4th side of which is enclosed with a wall with gate and piers centrally placed. The centre symmetrical coach house block has a shallow neck front with pediment and six elliptical gateways and above each a square louvred opening ventilating the first floor. The flanking ranges seven bays long, have three round headed doorways with fanlights and the ground floor spaces lit by 12 pane Georgian sash windows. The upper floor is ventilated by 7 No. louvred openings. Each range is slated and gabled and abuts the next only at one corner. The north east gable of the south east range has a large bellcote. From the coach house there is a two storey return forming a dwelling house which is red brick faced on the north west facade and ½ of the north east gable, the remainder between sandstone. External steps give access to the floor over the coach house. The entire range is sited north east of the main house and beyond the land steward’s former dwelling. Its main axis is not just quite in line of the gateway leading into the courtyard of the house. There is an antique petrol pump near the entrance of the courtyard.
