Harbour Bar, 6 North St, Ballycastle, Co Antrim, BT54 6BN

The Harbour Bar is a two-storey, two-bay wide building likely dating to the mid-19th century, though it probably replaced an earlier building on the site. It stands within a terrace in North Street, Ballycastle, and is located within a conservation area. The building has some historical interest as a public house from the late 19th century.

The front elevation, facing North Street, features two separate entrance doors at ground floor level, leading to different bar areas. Above the doors are painted signs reading "Harbour Bar". The ground floor also has two windows, each with a large etched lower pane and two horizontal top-hung opening vents above. The first floor windows are wider than those on the ground floor, and also feature a large lower pane and three top-hung opening vents. The walls are smooth, rendered, and painted, with a plinth at the base. The roof is natural slate, with a half-round gutter, and because the building is only two storeys high, the ridge line is lower than the adjacent buildings at numbers 5 and 7. The rear of the building is largely hidden by neighbouring structures. The window arrangement was altered after 1970. Ordnance Survey maps from 1832, revised in 1856, show the area.
