Description

A former terrace of one-and-a-half-storey rubble stone dwellings with brick dressed openings and timber sash windows. Now demolished and replaced with a modern development of bungalows. The First Survey card records: 'Pre 1833. A terrace of five cottages, with attics, built of rubble greystone with block brick surrounds to windows and doors together with brick segmental shaped relieving arches over all opes. All sashed windows in unrecessed frames retain full glazing bars except for two with horizontal glazing. Sheeted doors are flanked either side by two windows in two of the houses. Two cottages present one door and two windows to one side, the fifth has three windows to one side of door, this last bay being entirely of brick. Appears on O.S. map of 1833. Date of visit: 15 April 1971 ‘
