Description

Site, on the west side of Charlestown Road roughly one mile N/NW of Portadown, formerly occupied by a single-storey vernacular house of pre 1861 construction, demolished post 1974 with new dwelling now in place. In the first survey report of September 1974 the building was described as: ‘Single-storey cottage set below road level. Roof thatched, gable ends. Chimneys rendered. Walls rendered and whitewashed. East front has six drop-hung [i.e. sash] windows, [with] no astragals but one with vertical astragals. Projecting porch between windows two and three, [with] slate shed roof under thatch eaves. Door flush panel. Condition fair. Front about 58ft’.
