Description
The site, located within the Ballyhannon townland approximately one mile west of Portadown, was formerly occupied by a single-storey vernacular house built before 1835. The house was demolished after 1974. A survey from September 1974 described it as a single-storey cottage with a thatched roof (comprising both recent and older layers), gable ends, and pebbledash walls with a smooth base. The southwest front featured six drop-hung sash windows without astragals, with smooth surrounds. A central projecting porch was present, with the thatched eaves extended over it. A recent flush door with a glazed panel provided access. Adjacent outbuildings were also noted. The building appears to be depicted on the Ordnance Survey map of 1835. The survey card indicates the house was demolished some time ago, and the precise location of the site is now unknown.
