Description
Large, presumably prehistoric, standing stone located in the front garden of a house on the west side of Warren Road, approximately 1.5 miles northwest of Donaghadee town centre. The stone is irregular in shape, measuring roughly 2.5 metres in height and 1.2 metres at its greatest extent. According to the "Archaeological Survey of Co Down" (Belfast, 1966), the stone is sandstone, though it appears to the observers as fieldstone, possibly greywacke. The standing stone is shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1834 and is recorded in the Sites and Monuments Record as DOW 2:13. It is considered a monument.
