This is a small, single-storey gabled house located on a slight rise to the south side of Stockbridge Road, approximately 1.5 miles northwest of Donaghadee, County Down. The house likely dates from before 1834, though it has undergone significant modernization and extension in recent years.

The building's appearance has changed considerably; it now features a concrete tile roof, a ‘salt & pepper’ dry dash render, and modern window frames. The front façade faces west and is asymmetrical, due to a southward extension. A small, modern, flat-roofed porch is located to the left of centre. To the left of the porch is a single window, followed by three windows to the right. Both gables are blank. At the rear, to the left, is a large, projecting gabled bay with a window to the gable and a short north-facing window. To the right of this bay are three windows of varying sizes. A single brick chimney stack is situated south of centre. Modern PVC rainwater goods are also present.

An Ordnance Survey map from 1834 shows a building roughly corresponding to the plan of the present house. In 1973, the property presented a more vernacular appearance, with a thatched roof, white-washed rough cast façade, and a single Georgian paned sash window and door. The house was not included in the valuation records of circa 1836, but it is present in those of circa 1861-3, when it was occupied by a John Summers who leased the property from William Burns. Further alterations and modernisation took place in the 1980s.
