Bridge, Ballybunden Road, Kilmood/Balloo, Balloo, Killinchy, Co Down

This is a small road bridge spanning the River Blackwater, situated just northwest of the hamlet of Balloo in County Down. While it may predate 1834, its design exhibits a greater regularity than other nearby bridges. The bridge is built using snecked basalt rubble, featuring a single, low, segmental arch with sandstone voussoirs. It has a low parapet with rough coping, partly obscured by greenery. The surrounding area is wooded, making the bridge not easily visible from the road. The bridge appears on Ordnance Survey maps dating to 1834 and 1859-60. It is considered to be of industrial archaeological interest and is thought to have been constructed between 1820 and 1839.
