Description
Simple gabled church, now largely surrounded by a modern housing estate, near the N edge of the small village of Carrowdore. Front W gable has a small-ish central timber sheeted entrance door with pointed arch fanlight (containing many small ‘diamond’ leaded lights) with label moulding over. To either side of the doorway is a single pointed arch window, with similar leaded lights and label moulding. Directly above the doorway is a roundel window. This window breaks the moulding on the upper half of the gable, moulding which forms a ’pediment’. Pseudo ‘bellcote’ to gable apex. N and S facades each have three pointed arch windows with recent looking stained glass. There is a large, fairly recent, hall complex now attached to the rear gable of the church and only the upper half of the gable remains exposed. This upper half has two small-ish pointed arch windows with thin glazing bars and recent looking coloured glass. The entire facade is finished in lined render. The roof is pitched with Bangor blue slates and clay ‘saw tooth’ ridge tiles. Cast iron rw goods. Late Victorian wrought iron gates and railings to front on a low rendered wall.
