169 Ahoghill Road, Coolsythe, Randalstown, Co. Antrim, BT41 3EY

This is a solidly proportioned, two-storey vernacular farmhouse, likely dating to around 1830. It forms part of a group of buildings that have occupied the site since at least the early 19th century. The building is rectangular, facing east, and is of a common type.

The roof is pitched and covered with natural slate, with rendered gable chimneys and corbelled eaves. Rainwater goods are no longer present, but brackets remain. The walls are roughcast over a cement-rendered plinth, featuring corner banding and a sill course at first floor level. The windows are timber sliding sashes with exposed sash boxes; the ground floor windows are 6/6 sashes, while those on the first floor are 3/6 sashes, both with horns. The main (east) elevation has an opening in each bay at each floor, arranged around a central door opening with a transom; a temporary door now occupies this opening. A 6/6 window is present in the left gable at first floor level, which abuts a small lean-to shed at ground floor. The rear elevation and right gable were not inspected.

A group of buildings, including this farmhouse, are shown on the first edition Ordnance Survey map of 1832. Townland Valuation records provide no specific information. Griffiths Valuation of 1859 records a house, offices, and land occupied by John Hill, with a valuation of £1.15s for the building.
