O'Grogan Memorial, Cranfield Graveyard, Cranfield Road, Randalstown, Antrim, Co Antrim

The O'Grogan Memorial was a headstone erected to the memory of Daniel O'Grogan, who died in 1696. It was located in Cranfield Graveyard, on Cranfield Road in Randalstown, County Antrim. The headstone was originally listed in 1974 but was subsequently removed from the site and is now considered demolished. Based on a photograph, it appeared to be an upright slab of stone with a rectangular shape and angled top corners, bearing an inscription in raised letters. While nothing of particular significance is known about Daniel O’Grogan, a townland called Groggan, formerly spelled Grogan, lies to the northwest of Randalstown. The memorial was situated within the curtilage of the scheduled monument, ANT49. The graveyard itself contained a church, likely constructed probably in the 13th century, which was ruinous by the early 17th century. The headstone was originally considered a mausoleum. It was delisted on March 19, 2002.
