Description

Rewe Farmhouse is a farmhouse that possibly dates back to the 16th century. The west end, which houses the kitchen, has been partly rebuilt, and the central four bays were reroofed when the farmhouse was refenestrated in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of slobbered rubble, with the center possibly made of cob and rubble, while the west end has a very irregular wall. The lower roof of the west end is covered with asbestos slates, and the higher center has triple Roman tiles. There is a hipped agricultural wing that returns to the north, with eaves at the same height as the west end. The left gable end features a rebuilt brick stack, and there is a large rendered and brick stack set below the eaves to the right of the through passage, which is similar to the one on the right.

The farmhouse has a plan that consists of three cells and a cross passage, with the agricultural wing on the right where the ground slopes away; the original plan is unclear. It stands two storeys tall and has a facade with a layout of 1:1:2:1 bays. The late 19th and 20th-century casements include two-light windows on the first floor and a four-light window to the left of the entrance on the ground floor, which features a 20th-century door. Beyond this, there is a two-light window with a wall above that is unlit, followed by two more two-light windows. The agricultural wing has a two-light window with a plank door beyond it.

Inside, some features are partially visible, including a nine-panel steeply chamfered compartment ceiling to the right of the cross passage. The lower end is featureless but has a large fireplace that is concealed behind a 20th-century grate. There is a possible four-bay jointed cruck roof in the center.
