Description
The road bridge at NGR ST 1077 2132 is a Grade II listed structure located in Langford Budville, Harpford. Built in 1832 by James Green, it spans the remains of the Grand Western Canal. The bridge is constructed from squared and coursed local rubble stone, featuring red sandstone saddle back coping that is partly cemented over. It has a single arch span with dressed voussoirs forming an elliptical headed arch. The curved abutments end in square pilasters, and there is a string course above the arch. The canal was closed in 1867, and this bridge is noted as the best remaining rubble bridge over the canal.
