Description
This is a wall, gate piers, gates, and lamp overthrow that serve the churchyard of the Church of St Gregory. The restored rubble wall likely dates from the 16th century and extends 166 metres along Sparrow Hill. It has rubble coping and varies in height from one to three metres, acting as a retaining wall for the churchyard. At the west end, there is a pair of 19th-century ashlar gate piers with hipped caps, and a bracket projecting from the left pier holds a lamp. The entrance features a pair of decorative wrought and cast iron gates, along with a short section of wall that extends 20 metres north from the left pier. Additionally, there is a mounting block consisting of four stone steps adjacent to the right gate pier.
